Default Just bought a 2008 Silverado!

Just bought a 2008 1500 and love it! Can anyone tell me about how long it will take my truck to get "broken in" to get the most out of my gas mileage[/align]?

I don't think there is a break in period? Look in your owners manual or talk to your salesman. That is what I would say. But in my opinion, if there was a breakin period, I would say that it would be about 1500 for the first period (half throttle), and 5000 for the last period (3/4 throttle). Then I would say that you are good to go. JUST MY OPINION!

I just bought an 08 a few months ago and asked the same question about break in period. I was told there is no break in period. Drive like you would normally and the truck will adjust to either your good or bad habits! I was told not to tow for the 1st 1K miles.
