Default more electricity for the sierra

so i'm new to the forum thing but i thought that i should consult with you guys before i go any further on this project. what i want to do is add an invertor to the truck using a second battery. my question, or questions is how to charge that second battery. do i need to upgrade the altenator to avoid to much draw from the main battery or can i just connect the second to the first one. what kind of things do i need to know before i do this and if anyone has any suggestions for me i would appreciate it.

I have no idea how to go about doing it but I do know you need to upgrade your alternator. Try going to http://www.gmfullsize.com/forum/index.php I know allot of those guys run hydraulics and stuff they might be able to help you.
