Default on to my next issue........lower ball joint

I have a passenger side lower ball joint with a ripped boot oozing grease.Today theAdvance Auto store told me they have a ball joint press I could use but they were not sure if I had to remove the lower control arm to use the press. Now I'll ask you guys. Do I need to remove the control arm to press in the ball joint? Also, they have TRW brand ball joints and the have "OE" brand that is about $10 cheaper. Any difference in the quality of these ball joints?

moog and TRW make good front end parts.

But beware...this is no simple task....the press needs an impact gun most likely...and the big problenm in the driveway is getting it high enough to have room for the press

it still may be cheaper for me to remove the lower control arm and then have the new ball joint pressed in.
