I would change it so that you know what the fluid condition is. I would have had it done right after I bought it. It's kind of like insurance, you know you may not need it, but when you do, it is there. It's just a good idea to know how the condition is on all of the fluids. Oil, trans, diffs and the coolant. They are all good to change when you are in doubt about their condition. IMO

agreed! you really dont know what kind of abuse its been put through. those 4l60 trannys are so fragile, every little thing counts. if you want to get to 200k i can almost guarantee that your gonna run into tranny issues. im at 119k miles with a LIGHTLY modded engine and im already at 2 rebuilds. next time im just getting a performance one from flt...a lil more expensive but cheaper in the long run.

Should have been changed 50,000 miles ago. I do my tranny, rear end, and transfer case every 40,000. Cost about $75 for a the fluid and tranny filter but is a hell of a lot cheaper than tranny rebuilds and rerear end changes.
