Need advice on 1995 ball joint replace
'95 4x4 Sierra ball joint replace. I removed the caliper. I loosened the tied rod end but now the nut is turning the ball inside the socket....O NO!! I'm thinking maybe chiseling the nut off. Huh?
I also now see that the hub must be removed from the spindle. O goody I get to buy another socket :-) What size?
Any other advice?

in the past i have done a few different things to stop it from spinning. one was jamming a set of vise grips in there tight as can be once i ripped the boot off. another was cutting it off with a cutting wheel or sawzall. i suggest the cutting wheel as a sawzall will take forever and alot of blades, but it depends on what tools you have around.

I just disconnected the entire tie rod assembly from the truck and will get it off the knuckle when I get the knuckle off the truck.
I have the knuckle removed from the ball joints. I seperated the axle flange under the truck but the knuckle will not come away from the truck without getting it past the ball studs. And I can't get it past the ball studs because the axle cv boot is hitting the lower control arm.
I included a picture that may help explain. I can't even understand what I am talking about without pictures.
