New 07 problems...
Hey guys, new to the site, and a new first time silverado owner. I have a 07 silverado classic ext. cab, short bed, 4.3 v-6.
my problem is that around 500 miles my truck started to shake/wobble between 40-45 miles an hour. took it back to the dealer, they looked at it and said they couldnt find anything wrong with it! then the service guy said that the torque converter kicks in and out at that speed, and thats what im probably feeling. after that answer, which i thought was a bit of crap, i took it to another gm certified dealer. they said that i shouldnt be able to feel that kickin in and out. they looked at it and said the tires were out of balance.. as soon as i drove it, it kept doing the same thing. i waited a couple days to see if it got worse or better, and it got worse. now it does the same thing around 60-65.
i took it back to the second dealer, they had it for a day, and called me and said, cant find anything wrong, but tire pressures were 7 pounds over what they should be. i told them they were the last ones to check them, and that kinda shut him up. he told me he is having this "road force" test done on it. i have never heard of this. he said the truck sits on a machine on rollers, it then index's the tires(?), then it measures around the tire to check for proper size and wear.
the test is monday, so hopefully they can come to some conclusion. if not, my sate(illinois) has a lemon law, that if a new truck has the same problem, and if after 4 attempts have been made, and its not fixed, then i can pursue it as a lemon.
what do you all think about this? this has been going on now for two months, the truck now has 2,355 miles on it..i do alot of highway driving, and its annoying to feel this shake at 65 .

sounds like an alignment or tires out of balance. i run my tires at 45psi and i usualy get a slight bit more road noise but no shake. i have heard ofroad force testingits basiclyan alingment machine that gets its information while your trucks tires are rotating on a dyno typeplatform.
the road force test proved that i wasnt lying....one of my back rims was bent, and the two rear tires were bad. the dealer said the rim was out of spec...possibly from a bad mold at the factory..the tires he never really said except that they were bad....they put the new rim, and four new tires on it. my new truck, finally rides like new
