This is for a 1998 GMC Sierra. I have installed a new fuel pump as the last one went out. I have replaced the fuel filter. The ECM fuse is fine as well as the fuel pump replay. There is power at the line into the fuel pump but the fuel pump will not turn on. I am out of ideas. Any ideas of why the fuel pump is not turning on?

 

verify the ability of the wiring to carry a load.
jumper in a sealed beam headlamp in place of the pump. cycle the key to on and see if the light turns on for 2 seconds. if it doesn't or is dim there is a wiring problem.


if the light is bright; your new pump is nfg
