Hey just wanted to say hi and love this forum. I have been reading all of the old posts for the last week or two. Just decided to join.Well looking forward to getting to know all of you.Thanks for the ultimate free mod stuff, here is a question for anyone who knows, I have a 5.7 and would love to get a power boost out of it, Cheap! what is the best thing that I can do? You guys are always talking about the newer 5.3's. Just wondering.

The older throttle body's responded well in my own mind to a throttle body spacer ( power tower). Therecheap too.

pretty much anything talked about on the 5.3's would help on a 5.7 as well... the basic concepts are the same in every engine... more air + more fuel = go faster.

 

Yeh I agree, and I know the basics. However, I didn't know if there was something spacific that I could do to it that hasn't been mentioned lately.

Where can I get a cheap throttle body spacer for my truck. Airaid is the only one that I can find.

i know oreillys sells them for the 350 for about 50 bucks or so

 

Hey, does anyone know what the advantage or disadvantage to haveing that stupid air box on the intake tube? It's the one that has VORTEC on it right behind the throttle body. If I blocked it off what would be the advantage or disadvantage?
