I personally would have left the factory mags on the truck and just put the better tires on them instead of putting the steel rims on the new truck. My 2 cents though.

i didnt do the aluminum rims because the guy that had it lived in the city so they have a bad case of curb rash and the clearcoat is gone and its really oxidized

besides the steel rims were new when i bought the old truck

I have the same chrome steelies on my 2000 Silverado LS. I love them. They're strong, easy to care for, and look pretty decent. I have Z-71 wheels on my '08 GMC, and they're pretty good looking, too. I was never one for putting aftermarket wheels on, unless the vehicle came with painted steelies with either hub caps or full wheel covers.

I really like the look of the police black Yukons with the black wall tires and black steel rims, too.

But, that's just me, I suppose. I've always preferred the understatements.

I like the black wall tires and black steel rims too on the ploice Yukons, but on other trucks unless they are solid black also are iffy. I will agree with you on the maintennance and care for the steelies also. Easy to maintane.

Good point. Over the years we've seemed to have forgotten how good bright chrome looks. Since the factories started offering Cast and forged alloy wheel that are either matte finished, or polished, the look of chrome wheels sorta waned.
I really do like the look of chromed wheels.
