I have to put my old s-10 to sleep. I'm looking at a 2000-- 1500--Silverado 4wd--auto.--V8--z71. .100,ooomi. Private sale. Are there issues with these trucks i should look for ?? Very clean ,no rust. I tried it out and everything works smooth. Just need some advice Thanks

 

I would still have a mechanic look it over, just to be on the safe side. They can usually tell if parts are on their way out, or are bad but not causing any problems.

 

I bougth by 2000 Silvy with 96k miles (currently 121k miles). Here's some things I've had to fix on mine since buying it:

Fuel level sensor
All oxygen sensors
Both catalytic converters
4WD selector switch
MAF sensor
Map sensor
Throttle position sensor
And, I'm currently getting the P1870 code so the tranny (4L60E) will be next

 

Did that today. This is the first time in my 46 yrs. of driveing that i took a vehicle to a mechanic to check it out. BEST thing i ever did. It turned out to be a very shiny piece of chit. Bondoed rockers-cracked frame-leaky trans with burnt fluid --black motor oil--leaky intake and thats just some of it. BEST $50. i ever spent. But i'm still looking for a Silverado.
