Exclamation Please Help!!!

I have a 2003 2500HD 6.0L I seem to have to crank for few seconds R try again to get it to start up! I have hooked up fuel gage to fual rail and get 48psi at idle and raises to 52psi when I press on pedal runs fine after starting. When I turn key off within 1min pressure drops to zero is this normal? If not where do I begin to solve problem? It seems to me that it should remain with some pressure after key is off so that it would start easy again. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!!!

There is a valve in the pump that keeps the pressure from bleeding off. The fuel regulator only regulates pressure when its added to it. A new pump is the only way. A new pump AC Delco brand runs about $540.

It is actually a Delphi unit and I have found them on eBay for a lot less. Here is one, but you need to verify the part number...
