Possible Bad Wiper Motor? Help?
Hey everyone new to the forum. Very helpful. Wondering if someone can give me some insight. My 1993 Gmc Sierra's wipers started acting up today. Basically it was raining , i went to turn on the wipers and they didnt do anything. I could hear a huming noise they they were trying to come on but didnt move. I then got out of the car and gave one of the wiper arms a slight pull then they started working. Just wondering if this could be a bad motor or something else like the switch. Could use any help here folks. Thanks ahead.
ps- this happen a couple of times on my old truck which was a 1994 chevy s10. same thing.

hey chris...thanks for responding...actually this is the second time they have done this. The first time was over a year ago and this time, well it happened just a couple of hours ago. I will continue to check em the next couple of days. I am just alittle worried because i will be driving this truck out of town next week and dont want them to go totally out on the road. But then again if I can save money not replacing something thats good too...lol.

I would bet it is the circuit board inside the module. Sometimes you can remove them and clean the contacts with some alcohol and a q-tip. If that doesn't work they can be replaced separately and aren't that expensive. I have replaced a dozen or more of them. Here is one on eBay...

I had the same thing happen to me on two different trucks. It is the wiper motor under the hood on the firewall. This is located right in front of the driver. I found a part on craigslist and took the chance it would work. So far so good.....
