Default procomp 6" lift install question......

aloha from the big island of hawaii, quick question for all you silverado people on here......i am getting ready to install a 6" procomp lift on my crew cab 05 silverado with the 5.3L and i have the auto-trac on my ride. the instructions state to get a new front drive shaft.....my question is do i need this??? i have talked to my local 4x4 shop and they said not really, its just procomp recommends it because of a "chance" of binding with hard right/left turns.....does this sound right?? i really did not want to but the almost $500 shaft if i did not need it...
any thoughts or suggestions??? mahalo and aloha!!!

i'm not definitely sure on this but i know three people with 6" suspension lifts on a truck like that and none of them have new front driveshafts... i think its more of a recommendation for "just in case." kinda like running 33's on a 6" when you can get them stock lol

again though, im not sure, so dont blame me if you break it lol

thanks for the input, i am guessing that if something did break it would probably be in the transfer case...or would it just bust a u-joint?? any thoughts.....
