Default Push button 4WD/Plow

My 2003 1500HD has the electric, push button 4WD system. Which I know nothing about. With this system can I install a plow on the truck? I should probably check at a dealership, but would like your knowledge as well.
We can get some serious storms here. Up to a foot is not uncommon. Last April we got a storm that dumped 20-24 inches and the temps were high 20's and low to mid 30. It even rained in the middle, so the snow was quiteheavy.

No idea, we don't get snow here. but we make up for it with 105+ temps alot like today with a ton of humidity just for fun.

I am assuming you are talking about the Autotrac feature, ie., auto 4x4 mode. You can definately plow with this set up, probably 80% of the trucks up here in Canada have the push button. Now here's where you gotta be careful... DO NOT use the auto 4x4 mode for plowing, only use 4 hi or 4 low. The auto feature has clutches which engauge/ disengauge and will prematurely wear out. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the info. I definitely do not plan on using the AUTO 4x4 feature for plowing. I probably won't even use that at all. I think I would want it in or out of 4WD.

Sorry to be so old fashioned. It took awhile to convince me automatic front hubs are OK. I'm a little suspicious of electric engagements, systems.

haha that reminds me of just the other day I stopped in at a dealership in Bastrop, they had a 1983 K30 4x4 454. It was all decked out with a 12" lift and 36inch mud tires. It has been raining a LOT and I wanted to test drive it in the mud. Me and my aunt got in it and I was trying to put it into 4x4...But forgot to unlock the front hubs >.< Needless to say...no 4x4 action that day =(
