redneck ram air
So I finally got around to starting the redneck ram air... I only put a 3x3 square hole in the bottom/side kinda ish.. the plate that holds the box in place only has like 1/4 gap.. did most of you guys who have done this mod put your holes in the sides away from that plate or still on the bottom?

My buddy's truck we cut the circular hole in the front side facing the headlight. I wish we just drilled a bunch of holes in the bottom instead. His K&N filter seems to get really dirty from the way we did it, but that is just my observation. Maybe doing it your way will do the same thing.
The big question is... Did it make any improvements to your truck?

too early to tell.. I can definitely feel a difference in the 13-1800 rpm range.. no difference really from a dead stop tho.. as far as MPG or anything goes... time will tell.. I was at a 3/4 tank when I did it and I am down to a 1/2 tank but my milage in that range varies anyway so I wont know till my next full tank which will prolly be this weekend.

well MPG's def went up.. not sure how much but a normal tank of gas (20gal ish) takes me 370 miles before my low fuel light pops on.. I am currently at 1/8 a tank and at 355 miles or so meaning I will pas the 370 mark if I were to push it.. and that was AFTER I had used almost a 1/4 tank of gas.. so.. prolly 1-3 miles to a gallon increase.. Will give more precise info when I get it : ) now I am tempted to put 1 more hole or increase the size of the hole a little to see if a little more air would be any more beneficial.. or if I have about maxed that potential out already
