Hey guys i posted a couple weeks ago that my ac compressor was making noises in my 2003 silverado 5.3L. Well i figured out that it is most likely the compressor going out so i purchased a new compressor off ebay 75 bucks baby! I know that i have to get he system discharged, but i was wondering if this is a hard thing to do and if i should even attempt it. I also heard that when the compressor goes out that you need to replace the accumulator and the orifice tubes. I was quoted around 500 bucks to get it replace if i provided the partsand i thought it was a little high plus it doesnt seem like it would be to hard to fix myself. I was just going to have it discharge by someone and then replace the parts myself and then have it charged by the same company. Is there anything im looking over im just wondering if im getting in over my head. I have never done anything with ac before except change the belt. Any suggestions or warnings would be greatly appreciated.
