Is it just on the bumper? I work for a Chevrolet/GMC dealership and have not seen any come back. If it's all over the truck it could be industrial fallout. Warranty.

Make sure you keep records of your visits to the dealer. Not just you personal records, but get something from the dealer in writing each time you visit so you have some ammunition in case they decide to be slick about it.

Wait until you and your 'ole lady get into a fight, and go to the dealership when your really mad. Give the illusion that your crazy, and they might be willing to put a new bumper on it. All jokes aside, rust remover gel can work in some situations. I have some rust on the rims of my chevy truck, and my jeep. Last weekend I used a little rust remover gel,and it worked better than I expected it to. You should use it on small areas at a time, and follow the directions. Make sure that you let it soak into the metal, but not for too long.

just bought my 02' with only 54K on it. It looks immaculate, but it was from IND. and has some chassis rust underneath. Is there something I can or need to do to stop this, or will the truck be worn out years down the road before it makes any difference?

BIGT - the only thing i have found to stop and prevent rust totally is POR15 products.. they can be a bit costly, but from my experiences they certainly get the job done.. Might help ODIEKO too if you get a new bumper.. POR15 has several products to stop and prevent rust.. I'd be raisin' 9 kinds of .... about the bumper though, that's ridiculous..
