Shift Knob help!

Default Shift **** help!
I have a 2005 GMC Sierra, I bought a new shift **** and I am having a rather hard time trying to remove the stock ****. I cut off the leather covering and underneath is just a plastic **** with nothing to unscrew so that I would be able to get it off. Could anyone help me figure out how to get it off?
