hey guys i got a 2001 sierra 4.8 4x4 with 270,000km with add exhaust, marker lights, aftermarket radio, leveling kit, right now towing is really ****y and lately mpg are like 12-14. i have a chance to upgrade to a 2006 sierra 2500hd with a 6.0L its only got 100000 km for $10000 bucks, this truck seems way better but i hate to have to start over again with upgrades and a 6.0 could be really bad on gas not sure. anyways do guys think its worth it

 

Lots to consider. Since you mentioned towing, I would think what you are towing and how often would be big considerations. In general though, your probably going to be better off with the newer, heavier duty truck, with less miles.

 

Your gonna get the same MPG's with the 6.0, but you wont stress the motor out like the 4.8. The 6.0 with a few bolt ons will give you some good power.
