I was doing 110 in a 55 on Easter Sunday and got pulled over. 5-0 was in the median and didn't even get his lights on before I pulled over. I told him I was going to my father's and hadn't seen him in a few months. In Florida they can arrest you for doubling the speed limit, but, he gave me a $60 seat belt ticket only.
In FL street racing is not illegal but watching it is....WTF?

 

A friend of mine told me that if highway patrol tries to pull u over,once u hit 100mph they will discontinue pursuing you and back off.I'm in Northen California I dnt think I'm ever goin 2 try it though its too risky.

 

With all the highspeed chases in cali I'm sure they'd be more than game to chase ya lol! Install a donut and coffee launcher, kinda like a chaff/flare one. No worries about cops chasing ya if it's raining donuts and coffee.

 

I'm living in Modesto right now, but I was born and raised in Los Angeles. And down there, the cops would hit you doing anything. I remember one night mt dad and I were coming home from his shop and he churped his tired at the light and a cop from a different city pulled him over down the street for doing it. Bunch of bull. And he also got a ticket for his ball on his hitch blocking his lic plate. Took a picture of the cops car that gave him the ticket be his ball was blocking his lic plate. Had the damn thing thrown out. But up here in crappy Modesto, the cops like to get you on dumb crap. Like window tint. But speeding is ok. Retarded. Thanks MPD for doing nothing.

 

2 questions here. 1. Has anybody tried the radar jammer called phaser? I have been seeing alot about them, and the cops here got new instant on toys. My boss got pulled the other night and his valintine one never went off.
2. I have noticed that when I get over 105, my truck starts to only slowly accelerate rom there up. Anybody else noticed this? I am only turning around 3000-3500 rpm in third at that speed, so I am not sure what's up. Maybe it is my gearing.

 

not instant on. most of ours have an on off switch and can only be detected if they are transmitting. Radars are becoming obsolete and most hardcore traffic deputies are using lasers. the dectectors are pretty useless too. as well as the jammers. they will give an error reading on the screen if you have one. so they will write you on the visual estimate. The fastest reading i ever got was on a black 4 door ricer at 147mph in a 45 mph zone. he totally smoked my crown vic. never had a chance.

in florida we have to be crtified in visual estimates before we can be certified on the equipment. we have to be with in 5 miles per hour of the actual speed for our estimate for 100 consecutive times in a total of five rounds of 100.

I really like the coffee and doughnut launcher! go figure.

 

also in florida that thing about the highway patrol calling off the chase at 100 mph is bullsh$t! they will chase you till the wheels fall off and in most cases the crazy *** chase loving deputies (aka me) will get involved and f@#k your car up!

 

Now I must build it lol! I have a phaser and even from driving from Texas all the way up to Washington I remember being painted 3 times when I wasn't next to an airport. I've had it since 2005 and have only been painted a total of 7 times. I find if I wave to the bike cops and let them over to the shoulder next to the carpool lane so they can paint both sides of the highway they leave me alone. I had to turn around going to work one day because somthing happened he shook his head at me when I went by at 90. He shook his head and grinned the next morning, so being cool to the local cops and state cops pays off. One of the local guys in a charger pulled me over because I had to use an extra bit of throttle to get out of a steep driveway and avoid oncoming traffic.

I also found explaining everything well works great too, he checked out the truck being curious and said it would probably be a good idea to change my plates and license to Washington.

I was a deputy sherrif after hurricane Rita, I tried to get them to let me use my truck but they were very firm on using the patrol cars Was still an interesting experince, nothing like people robbing a dollar general in broad daylight 20 minutes after you start!
