The truck: slightly modified 2002 Sierra LD, 4WD, Z71. I've got a Voltan intake, a Hypertech programmer, and an aftermarket exhaust that I want to replace.

So here's my question: What recommendations are out there for exhaust? I want something good, but I'm not gonna blow $1200. There are too many options out there, and I'd like opinions from people who've tried different systems, configurations, etc.

Another thought is headers, same deal...long? Short? Just looking for some testaments.

As far as exhaust goes, I would not try to free it up too much. It seems themore you free it up the more low end you lose. I'd go with a single in/dual out Super 40 or 44 Flowmaster muffler and if you decide you want headers I'd go with shorties myself. Others may have their opinions but I think this setup is more than adequit.

 

I just ordered a cat-back system that's a one in, dual out, using the 40 series. Not a bad price, $360...I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
