smokin' riceburners

RE: smokin' riceburners
Heh, a lot more comes into account than power to the wheels! Gear ratios, weight, tire/rim size and weight, weather, altitude. They may in fact be pushing more power and torque. It just depends on the setup that the automaker has gone with. Ford isn't trying to make their trucks "faster", neither are Dodge and GM. They are trying to make better hauling trucks. Just because you can outrun an F-150 doesn't mean you can do a better job pulling a load.

My dad has an F-150 and I can out pull him all day long! Same size 4x4 and comperable weight and tire size. I think his truck is about 1 inch taller but thats about it. Oh yeh mine has a bigger engine that is rated at less power than his. So I see where you (72charger) are coming from, but it seems from my experience that Chevys have better drive train set-ups to get the power to the ground better than the others. Thats why I own a chevy not any thing else.

Now, now. I used to be a part of the gnat gang. It's actually a lot of fun until you own your first Z28...... Ofcourse I'm not sure my Z28 could handle the twin turbo 300ZX I drove and nearly bought. Pretty scary to shift into 4th and at the same time glance down and see your doing 120mph and not even really being serious about it.

Guys I work for ford and their trucks are dirt slow. I tried to power brake a f-150 5.4l I couldn't. Not even spin the tires a little. They are dogs. Now the ricers... if you can buid power out of them for the same amount of moneyI spend on my 350 then we'll talk. I can spend about 2 grand and get well over 500hp and still be reliable for everyday driving and not have to work on them everyday and blowing head gaskets. But thats just my opinon....
