Default Some questions

Hey guys

I'm new to the site and also a new owner of a 2004 Z71 and have been reading some of the old post and have some of the same issues.
1.A clunking noise in the driveline when automatic tranny shifts. Sounds like the yoke problem?

2. a whining noise that kicks in @ 25 mph to 40 mph. Sounds like you are rubbing your finger around a good piece of crystal if you know what I mean. Driving me crazy wondering what it is.

I have seen mention of TSB#s. What are they and where do I find them??

I bought the truck from a dealer and it was a certified vehicle but I didn't buy the extended warranty as he was trying to get me for another $2200 bucks.

I have only had the truck about 9 days but want to get this stuff fixed before it leads to any bigger problems.

Should I worry about the noises or are they typical for the silverado's.

Love the truck and hope it last me awhile. any info would be great .Thanks in advance..

Is the whining noise in the front end? If so I have it also and the deal told me its in the transfer case and noise is acceptable in it. There is a service bulletin out on it.

Not sure where the noise is. Where can I read about the service bulletin? Does your noise go away at certain speeds?

The top of the page there is a tab that says tsb, go through there and you'll find it. I wanna say its from 1100 to 1400 rpms in second gear that it makes the noise. I notice it in town between 30 and 40.

If its as high-pitched as you say..it sounds like an aftermarket arial doing it...or bug shield

I have a similar noise like you're talking about. It almost sounds like a small turbo. The pitch changes with RPM? I think mine is an airleak, but I can't find it yet...

I had the same noise. It sounded like it was in the dash... Kinda sounded like a little fuel pump in there...
