my daughter has a 2001 GMC Yukon XL and the speedo doesn't show all the time. it might peek out every 2 or 3 days and go back to hiding any idea for a quick cure. thanks

 

GM speedo clusters are notorious for different type of failures. Any one of the gauges can fail due to a componet called "A Stepper Motor" Your vehical may fall under warranty. There have been numerious blogs, listings on sites such as these, discribing owners complaintes towards GM dealerships not honoring warranty claims and some dealerships following through. I was lucky enough to have my failed speedometer repaired/replaced at no charge due to the purchase was less than 2 weeks old. There are sites and repair facilities that do sell / repair clusters so you can get your daughtters vehicle back to normal. Good luck .

 

well here as in other states that have inspection we are supposed to have a speedo but they can get the mileage from pressing the trip odometer so that is working for now, also time for a newer vehicle anyway.
