Default stainless or aluminum pipes?

I was told the only difference between these two exhaust pipes was stainless is more expensive and should last the life of the truck, whereas aluminum lasts about ten years. What comments do you have on this?

In my opinion, if you live in the north, i.e. lots of snow or along the coast, go with stainless. If snow and salt spray aren't a proble, go with aluminized pipes with a stainless or chrome tips.

If you hav e the cash and don't mind the more "tinny" sound of stainless then go for it hands down. If you go alum pipes, get heavier gauge pipes and have them welded not clamped together. I had this welded setup on my last truck and it went 3 years without a problem in PA, then I sold the truck.[X(]
