Tahoe Power and Towing

Tahoe Power and Towing
I'm comparing an 8 cylinder 2013 Tahoe to a Toyota Sequoia.
I tow a 3500 lb boat with a 1994 Suburban 350, 5.7 liter, and it's not good. On any hill, I'm maxed out at about 38 MPH.
The torque of the Tahoe is about 335 at 4000 rpms, and the Sequoia is 400 at 3600 rpms.
I don't know how to compare those, but the Sequoia sounds better. Personally, I'd rather get an American made truck again, so I'm curious what others say.
How good will that Tahoe be for towing on hills, and will I really get that mileage they advertise: 15 to 21?
thx

I honestly couldn't or wouldn't compare the two. Mainly because nothing compares to tow 3500 lbs with a diesel.
Once you test drive a Chevy Duramax diesel and tow your boat with it, you won't even consider a gas for towing again

I'm not sure were you live... Here diesel is $0.10 cheaper then gas.
Duramax diesels are quieter then Ford's powerstroke and Dodges Cummins
I can go through a fast food drive through with out having to turn my truck off to make the order.
A diesel truck is a couple of 1000.00 more then a gas truck and the service is more then a gas, but all that is worth it with the horse power and torque gained.

I have the 5.3 in my truck, and I pull heavy loads with it all the time, and it acts like it isn't even there. My dads Chevy with the 350 you could feel the pull, but it didn't make a real big difference. It sounds like yours may just be worn out.
