Yes its what GM does to prevent drive-train/tranny damage though Im not a GM tech so I cant really explain that one lol...

How much is safe to remove if you don't mash the gas all the time. I'll hit it harder but I don't want to destroy it.

Too many hours at work too many days a week have fried my brain lol! I guess the reduction in performance is my clutch getting worse and worse.
