Towing

Good idea to take a couple minutes and download the GM towing guide for your model year truck as it varies by year as to the engine, gears, transmission, and other limitations. Even a Subaru will tow 3500 lbs so 4500 is with the capabilities of any 1500 pickup - but still check the guide.

I tow a 7300 lb toy hauler with a 5.3 and a 6.5 bed. The furthest I went was from New Jersey to Lake George NY. I was also carrying a 900 lb Harley and with all the other essentials you need for a week of camping. I guess I was at 9000 lbs I didn't have any issues. I'm sure many would say I'm nuts but that's what I did. I also have friend with a F150 and he has a fithwheel trailer with a 5.0 that he has no issues except steep hills he looses speed but makes it with no problems.
