I recently got new wheels. I removed the sensors from my old wheels, but I don't want to pay to get them installed in my new wheels. I threw all 4 in a wheelbarrow tire at 35 psi, but the light on the dash is still on!

Suggestions?

 

where is the wheelbarrow tire? does your truck have the information center that shows you the tire pressures individually?

 

They have to be reset/as well as the info center.

 

why not pay to get them put on? and they do have to be reset and since you have them in a tube, the only way you can reset them is with a tpms scanner, and that MIGHT fix your prob.

 

its gonna be tough to reset them in one tire i think... i think your best option is to install them in your wheels.

 

well you can take them out scan them with the scan tool n let the comp reset and then put them back in the tube and air it back up, that MIGHT work, but that is the only way to do it... but if your light has not turned off yet then i doubt it will work. how come you dont want to put them in your wheels?

 

Mine doesn't show individual tire pressures. It only alerts you when one is low. I never reset them when I rotated my old tires. The message would just tell you the wrong tire.

It works now partially. It only comes on on trips longer than 20 miles but it is still annoying.

 

When I had changed my OEM 17" wheels to the new Denali 22" I had to have the dealership re scan the sensors to shut off the warning light. After a few months, I sold those same Denali wheels as hauling a 7500# TT with them wasn't real practical. When I re-installed the OEM 17's again, in the same locations where they were removed from, I did get the trouble light again- another trip to the dealership but no more light. I really light the fact that I can monitor each wheels exact pressure. I would recommend that you take the plunge, and have the TPMS sensors reinstalled.
