Trailer Socket Wiring

Trailer Socket Wiring
I have lost power to the right turn signal/brake light in the trailer socket on my 2000 Chevy Silverado. Can anyone tell me or post a wiring diagram of the circuit to the trailer socket? I could jumper it from the bed light but I would rather find and fix the problem.

have you tested the socket with a test light yet? could be a bad bulb on the trailer...........the basics are the same for the wiring as they are on a flat 4.........the wiring for the socket runs into the main harness for the rear of the truck....if it works at your tail light and not at the plug (test with test light) then you have a break in the wire somewhere between the split for the socket and tail light....pull the covering off the harness and start looking at the green wire( caution you may have 2 green wires one is light green (reverse lights) and a dark green(brake/ right turn)) good luck and let us know if you need more help

it splits out of the harness that runs to your rear lights.........the "main" harness usually runs down the drivers side of the frame rail and somwhere around the hitch it splits to the tail lights and trailer light socket........hope this helps
