Ive done some searching around and havent really found anything helpful. so if anybody can help i would appreciate it. ok i just bought an 01 z71 with 106,000 miles on it. it shifted real good untill recently when i put it in reverse it clunks loud and hard. replaced all the u joints didnt help. also when i go to pass a car at around 60 mph if i put it down past half throttle it slips and hits rev limiter untill i let off then shifts excellent. as long as i dont go past about half throttle its fine. any help would be appreciated. thanks

Pull the dipstick, look at the color of the fluid, and smell it. It should be red and not smell funny.(burnt smelling) and go from there.

 

Try to PM Argon he might be able to help you. Just look to the right ide of the screen for the top ten posters and click his name.

 

Change your tranny filter and fluid and add the lucas tranny addetive, i put it in mine at about 185,000 and it helped out a lot, also change you fuel filter. it will feel like a brand new truck
