I have a 2005 Silverado W/T with the 4.3L and automatic transmission, approx. 15,000 miles

Several times in the last 4 months the transmission failed to go into overdrive - engine runs about 2500RPM at 70MPH.

There have also been a few instances when it will shift VERY HARD from 1st to 2nd, and the shift is usually accompanied by a squeal or screeching sound.

The dealer was not able to find a problem when they had the truck (damn intermittent problems)

I am wondering how many other people out there are experiencing the same problem.

I notice from the number of "hits" that there are many people looking into posts subject "Transmission"

If anyone has had the same problem and can share the fix, please let me know

i would look into having the tranny checked by a tranny shop, ior just be persistant with the dealership (especially if you have a warranty of some sort)
