Wheels for lowered Silverado

Wheels for lowered Silverado
Like most of you, I enjoy trucks alot. Even tho I like all shapes and forms of 'em (Chevy, Ford, Dodge).

I'm looking forward to lowering my '01, and thinking about some different wheels. Anyone have any ideas on widths and backspacing (offsets) for a truck with say either a 2/4 or a 4/6 drop?

How it going? I have a 01 Silverado with a 4"-6" I have 20" rims they are 9" wide and my tire size is 275-45-20. If u put a 4"-6" drope on it these tires will rub in the front(well mine did anyways) So u need a 275-40-20 to be able to ride on the front. Unless u raise it up about an ince in the front like i did.

Well the guy above is a complete idiot. For one he is running a 275 tire. That is 275mm wide which is a wideass tire for the front of a vehicle. And for one changing from a 45 series tire to a 40 series tire is only gonna make the tire shorter by a whole inch. Which is not going to do anything for the rubbing. If you don't want it to rub you need to run a more narrow tire like a 245 or a 255.
If you are looking for some twenties to go with I suggest either a 255/35/20 or a 245/35/20. You could even step it up two sizes for a 22' rim which would really fill in the fenderwell gaps. I'm not sure on the backspacing but I would run an 8inch rim and I'm gonna take a guess here and say a 4.5 backspacing. I don't know silverados and I only know s10s sorry.

RE: Wheels for lowered Silverado
i have a red 2001 silverado reg cab step side 5.3 vortec, auto, all power, 2- 4 drop, lots of billet and flowmasters, but no wheels. my truck came stock with the styled steel 16's, and i love the way it looks with a drop. take all the trim, and emblems off, maybe some color matched door handles, and a drop, also get the plastic parts on the bumper painted to match and your truck will look killer without heaver wheels. just a thought...
