Default truck will not start

Even though I read this forum on a regular basis, this is the first time I have ever posted anything. This site has been very informative but now I am stuck and don't know what to do. I have a 98 chevy silverado with a 5.7. I had to remove the intake to change out some leaky gaskets and after putting everything together, my truck will not start. I beleive I messed up the timing and now don't know how to check it. I do know that the timing on those trucks are not adjustable but I would like to check to see if it's in the right position. I ned to find a way to go back to basics and find TDC and go from there but there are no timing marks, beside the one on the vibration damper, on the truck. Any suggestions?

The coolant ended up in the oil pan after I removed the intake. I had to change the oil after I installed the new gaskets. Any ideas on how to get my truck started.
