Ihave an 05 5.3LZ71 extended cab silverado with a 6" RCD suspension lift, 35" procom mud terrain tires, K&N FIPK II air intake, and hypertech power programmer (only adjusted the shirt firmness to 100%). I would like some more horse power when off roading but dont want to go to extreme on the mod. any suggestions? some one at work suggested an STS turbo system http://www.ststurbo.com/gm_trucks, sounds like a little much to me.

 

there are several things you can do for less than 10 dollars that give a noticable increase in power. I recently did this to my truck and feels allot better. Check out my recent post for more information.

You may also consider doing a full exhaust system with headers, flowmaster 40 or 50 series mufflers. That is definately a good investment. Also play with your programmer, do alittle more than change the shift firmness on it. You should be able to get 25-35 extra horsepower from the power tune settings on that.

 

sounds good. so it was a noticable difference with those mods? did it help with offroading?

 

sorry i forgot to add that i looked more at the site above and it looks pretty nice. but if there are cheaper ways for noticable hp while off roading it might look into that first.

 

well my truck is an 06' and i'm still in the "new truck mode" so i don't go offroading very much. But I have noticed a fairly decent gain in power for the 5 dollars that I spent. I think you will notice it also. I'm about to go with some Edelbrock headers, and get my computer re-programmed at Texas Speed. So hopefully after that I will notice allot more gains.
