Weight on Stock Stock suspension Chevy silverado 1500
So I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 LTZ w/ the Z71 and upgraded towing package and 5.3L V8 engine. This upcoming summer I plan on doing a decent amount of work to it such as replacing the bumpers both front and back with steel replacements (chevy summit) as well as putting a roof rack on my cab and bolt in tool box in the bed so I can keep my tools to work on the truck with it when I go out hunting and stuff happens as well as not have to store my tools in my apartment. What I'm wondering is if I should put in a stiffer suspension while I'm doing all of this to offset what I think will be roughly a 750 pounds of additional weight that I will be adding. Also is this even a good idea? If I had a 1,000 pounds hauling or in the bed for a short amount of time I wouldn't worry about it at all but the long term situation of the stuff im adding has me thinking about potential downsides. I am planning on replacing my current brake pads and rotors with performance ones during this process as well because imo the extra 750 weight will wear out standard pads in a hurry.
