What is a good lift size?
I am getting ready to put a suspension lift on my 94' z71 and I need to know what a good size is. I want to keep the smooth ride and also get some better ground clearance. ALso i want to be able to put bigger tires and wheels on it sooner or later. Is a 3" in. a good size? What size tires will i be able to go to with a 3" in. without getting tire rub?
Get the 4-6" lift and you can fit 35" or 36". With a 3" you will probably have to modify the bumper and fenders to get 35s on there. Also remember going wiht bigger tire will need lower gears to keep from losing power. On my 93' I put 35s on and had to quit using overdrive to have any power, and it was slow. Looked good though.
When you say more ground clearance, what are you driving through and what do you primarily use your truck for? I work in construction and even at 6' tall it sucks loading multiple bags of concrete or drywall mud in the back and I only have a 4" lift with 35s.
thanks to all you guys for the advice... well im in college and i use it for the odds and ends jobs every now and then... i want to do at least a 3' with 33's so i will have better perforance off road. nothing too extreme. i want it to look good too. another quick question.... i was looking at the bump stops on my torsion bar and one is not touching and the other side is and the front of the truck sits a little unlevel ... .is this just because it needs to be leveled.... and can i just do that when i put the new torsion keys on the front.... i hope that is all there is to it!
