I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 Ext Cab with 5.3. I had a custom exhaust done and it true duals from the cats back with 2 magnaflow mufflers. Ive heard that I need an equilizer pipe and was wondering if this is true or what is the best performance exhaust for my model truck.

 

Unbolting the exhaust manifold from the engine and just running it that way. Or, sawing off everything past the collector. It's awfully loud though.


In my opinion, you really cannot go wrong with Flowbastards. They seem to be the most prevalent, and they're available everywhere. It's just a matter of deciding how to mount it and if you want to do a dual, or single outlet.

 

Id go with edlebrock headers, catless true dual flowmaster 40.
