The subject says it all. I've never done it before and I need to. I'm sure there's more to it than going and buying fuel injector additives for gas. I do appreciate the help.

 

I just had mine done at the GM dealer I work at. The truck runs on 100% injector cleaner. Pure cleaner is added to a canister which is tee'ed into the fuel rail under compressed air and with the fuel pump fuse removed. The truck ran for about a half hour strictly on the injector cleaner. I ran 2 bottles through mine because it has 150k + miles and was a forestry truck which saw severe usage, and I wasn't sure if it had been done before. It definately smoothed out the truck at idle. To my way of thinking this is the best waybecause the injectors are getting pure cleaner without fuel.( 99 Silverado w/ 5.3)

 

only thing i've heard of better than the service a gm dealer can give you is if you find a place that does ultrasonic cleaning off the vehicle.
