Wheatley tune killed Stereo????
Hey guys I have been having this problem for a while now and cannot figure it out.
--- I installed a Charlie Wheatley tuned PCM on my 03 Silverado with Bose but no OnStar. Then I installed an aftermarket stereo from Crutchfield.com and now my truck's theft deterrent activates (willl turn over, but not start) and the factory security system has to be reset every time I try to start it up. That means I have to go thru the 30+ minute procedure of turning the key on for 11 minutes then off again, then on again etc.... Its a huge pain in the butt. I have asked several professional stereo installers for help and bought 3 different door chime adapters and so far no one has any idea. My stereo and all components have been installed, re-installed, checked, re-checked, and re-installed by many different people. If ANYONE has any suggestions I would really appreciate it. I have emailed Charlie Wheatley but I dont know when or if he will ever reply. My best guess is that the tuned PCM somehow requires my factory stereo to be installed for my truck to start, because it has been starting fine with the factory stereo in place.
Also, does anyone know if this security system/theft deterrent can be removed from my truck???
