Default Why has no one posted this yet???!!!

Hello. I'm a long time GM owner, and lover. I have searched the internet for 2 days straight now, and I am blown away that no one has ever asked these questions. As most people know, the 1500, 1500HD, 2500, 2500HD, 3500, and 3500HD, is confusing enough for everyone with frame type questions. What I don't understand, is why no one has ever asked or posted a thread on body type questions.

For example, what I want to know is: Will a 2001 1500, or 2500 headlights, grill, front bumber, and valance fit a 3500? I've searched ebay, and one person says that these parts are interchangeable, than the next person says they aren't. One listing will say: 2001 Silverado headlights for 1500, 2500. The next will say: 2001 Silverado headlights for 2500, 3500. Then the next will say: 2001 Silverado headlights for 1500 2500 3500

If no one has asked this yet, now's the time for everyone to know in case this comes up in the future. So, for the experts out there. What body parts on a 2001 silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 (including HD) models are interchangable? Can I put 1500 headlights on a 3500? Can I put 2500 headlights on a 3500? Do they have to be HD models to be interchangable, or are they interchangable at all? Same for the grill, and bumpers?

Well in case you didnt know, some users on ebay are only tryin to make money. I see that a lot. The interchangeable parts I mean. Some will say yes and no but they most dont really know the truth. I really dont know that much if the parts you are talking bout will interchange. And I ask y would u? Just get the one made for your truck!!

Because, I don't want a stock grill or headlight. I want an aftermarket grille, and headlight. They make nicer grills, and headlights, than what came on the truck, and since they have gone bad, I want to replace them with nicer looking aftermarket parts. I can buy aftermarket parts, that are are a lot nicer looking for not that much more money. I've added a solid chrome grill, crystal projector halo headlights, markers, HID lighting, smoked red led taillights, and a smoked red led third brake light to my 2001 1500 Sierra, and they all look beautiful on there. Now my 3500 needs some body parts, and I want to copy as much as I can to it as well. So I need to know what parts are interchangable, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

That's awful nice of you, but I don't need any help finding aftermarket parts. That's all google is loaded with is websites selling aftermarket parts, but no websites helping owners figure out what parts are interchangeable from what models. There is a lot more parts for a 1500 than for a 3500, but if a lot of these parts are interchangeable, I can find better parts for the 3500. So, I only need to know the answer to my original question. Thanks anyway, though.

I have had the same issue with my truck and the best course of action I have found is that where ever your going to buy the aftermarkets parts call them or email them and ask them....Some parts may need to be altered to fit or your truck is going to need to be altered... most alterations are very small but others are big especially if you want a dodge model grill on ur chevy

Here's the problem with that. People will lie to you over the phone, just as fast as they will through the ebay listing to make a sale. I would like to know from someone, who either knows the specs of 2001 Silverado, or from someone who has bought the parts and tried it already. All I want to do is add Chevy Silverado body parts I mentioned on a 2001 from the same Silverado, just a 1500 or 2500, to my 3500. Somebody knows.

I don't know for sure, but here is my take on it. If you can go to a junk yard near bye and try one out. Take you old on off of your 3500 or what you have and find one of the other body and see if they are the same. You sound like a generally smart guy, just think outside of the box.

If you don't want to do that, then go down to the chevy dealer and see if they have the parts in stock. If they are the same part number then there is your answer, or if they have them then just compair them side by side.

I would amagine they are all pretty similare, but I would venture to say that the 2500HD and 3500HD are different in small ways than the 1500. Esspecially the bumpers, grill and valances. But I would go and check for sure (from someone who has no vested interest in you or your parts search) before buying brand new stuff and having it shipped to you. (you know how unreliable the shipping companies are becoming!)

That is what I would do!

Well, I figured it out. The headlights, and turn signals are the same on all 2001: 1500, 2500, and 3500 models including HD models. The grille is the same on a 1500, and 2500. And the grille is the same on a 2500HD, and a 3500. The bumper is the same on a 1500, and 2500, and the bumper is the same on a 2500HD, and a 3500. So now eveyone knows, if they didn't already.
