1998 Dodge Ram 360 knocking noise
I have 222,000 miles on my ram, I have changed the fluids religiously for the past thirteen years since I bought it used. Recently after leaving it outside and idle for several weeks while I was on a job away from St. Louis. I have been hearing a light knocking sound at the back of the engine on the driver's side and it does worse at acceleration. I have changed all plugs and wires and relaced the distributor and rotor. I have taken the truck to two mechanics and even a dodge dealership shop. No one has heard this sound berfore and can tell me what's going on. I am not a mechanic, I know enough to be dangerous under the hood. I can usually figure out what's going on, but this has me mystified. Any ideas out there???

i have a 98 dodge with a 360 and when i bought mine it made a slight knock and it gets worse on accelertion too. its been doing that for the 50,000 ive had it for and it still runs and drives the same. its just really annoying and no one i talk to has any idea what it could be. im thinking it might be a lose flex plate.
