Hey guys. I own a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX4. I am wanting to install a remote start kit. I am an aircraft electronics engineer and will be installing it myself but options and information seem to be hard to find at the moment. Has anybody installed one DIY before? Or any information on compatible kits would be helpful. Thanks.

 

I installed the Fortin remote start on my 2017 Ram 1500.
The installation was a bit tedious due to number of connections that needed to be
taken care. Being a contortionist helps while being under the dashboard and steering wheel.
After installation, it was just a matter of flashing the add-on module to syncronize it with the vehicle's ECU.
BTW, the flash-unit needed to be purchased,
but was refundable upon return.
