found a 2001 dodge ram 2500 with the cummins 6cyl 5.9 liter 24 valve turbo diesel engine, its got an auto tranny, power windows, power seats, etc. 2wd in decent shape, with goose neck ball installed in bed and electronic trailor brake controller installed. the guy wants $8,500 for it. good deal or should i talk him down? there are a few things that need replaced such as the side view mirrors, and the bed is a little rough and needs line-x and the paint need touched up in some spots.... what should i look for in this truck to make sure it worth purchasing? thanks in advance for any help!

forgot to include this to begin with, the interior of the truck is all leather, the drivers seat has a small repairable tear on the side, and the truck has almost 197,000 miles on it (which is just past break in period for the engine in it).
