Short version, this has been a problem for the last few weeks since it got colder. The headlights will not work when the temperature drops below freezing. All other lights work just fine, and the headlights turn on once the truck warms up. I initially thought it was the circuit breaker since when I went to reseat it, it turned the lights on.

I have replaced the headlight circuit breaker and sanded the contacts. I thought it worked, but the headlights did not work this evening.

 

New to this forum, and sorry to see no one has replied with any suggestions. I don't have an answer either, but I have some questions. When the problem happens, do you have no high beams or low beams? Are your headlight bulbs the original equipment type or a different type? These are the only troubleshooting ideas I can think of, since you replaced the headlight circuit breaker already, and I assume that when the lights don't work the circuit breaker is not tripped. Intermittent electrical problems are the worst.

 

I just reread your post, and saw that when you reset the breaker the headlights came on. So that means when the temps drop there's an overload or short Maybe you should check the wiring harness from the breaker to the headlights to see if there is a chafed wire that gets grounded out when it gets cold. Far-fetched, but crazy things like that can happen.
