Default 99 F250 - valve problem - 5.4 V8 Triton

I have this truck & doesn't idle very well. Guy before me told me it had a compression test & a valve was damaged. Want to do my own test. No signs of plugs or wires. Are they under the valve cover ? Can I tell the bad valve - int or exh - in comp test ? How to set valves after if I remove head to replace valve ? Thanks

you have to pull off each coil to find the spark plugs. The plugs sit under the coils. A service manual will show you how to set the valves if you need to replace them.
