Default Advice Needed

I have a 1990 F350 IDI dually. I am wanting to convert to 4WD. I have all the parts to either convert using twin Ibeam or axil.
I am conflicted...I have heard that you get a better ride if you stick with twin Ibeam but I have heard it is better to stick with axil.

Does anyone know which is better or the dissadvantages/advantages of each?
