Default Coil Pack problem

I have a '03 Ford F250 with 62k miles on it. We use it mainly for long distance trips and hauling the horses around.
I had my first coil pack (#1) go out the winter of '09. The next one just went out in Dec '10 (the #8 one). Now, I have not even put 500 miles on it since the last one was replaced. After taking a 8 hour trip, it started missing terribly again.

I cannot keep putting $200 in it everytime a coil pack goes out. Why is it doing this? Is it just a Ford thing? Surely there is something I can do?? HELP!!!!!!

Unfortunately it is common with the Fords. All you can do is search around and try to find a deal on them.

Yes, Mr Shamrock.....Those look to be the part. Do you think since they are all going out so closely together, that if I replace them all....maybe I'll get a few years on it before having trouble again, or should I always carry some spares??? lol

I haven't had too many Ford trucks myself, but at those prices I think I would just replace them all and call it a day. Remember which ones are good and save them for spares if you want. Good luck!
