I just purchased a 05 F350 XL superduty and the truck came with the old style conventional "square headlight sealed beam" and I was wondering If I could replace them with the fancy XLT headlights from another 2005. Could some one right off the bat tell me that they can be swapped without modification?

I haven't seen this done myself, but the mounting points are the key. If the old housings have two mounting points top and bottom then it should be a straight swap. You would need to check the wiring plugs as well. If you post up some pictures of what you have now of the mount points and plug I could probally tell you.
