Noob exhaust question just looking for an answer

Default Noob exhaust question just looking for an answer

Can i put any truck exhaust on my truck even if it isnt made for mine?

I know this is an old post, but I'm going to try and answer incase anyone else has this question. And please correct me if I'm wrong, since I'm no exhaust expert haha.
You should be able to go out and buy a muffler for your truck, and then buy pieces of pipe to fit onto that, and weld them together. Now I know not everyone can do that, but you should be able to go to a shop somewhere and see if they can build you one, like most of my buddy's have done.

Very true what Ben said. You can custom build your own exhaust from pieces off the shelf
But fitting an exhaust that was meant for another truck would probably create some waste or even spending more money to complete the fit

Exactly, if he had tried one from a 1500 he probably would have allot left over.
Plus, building your own can generally be pretty cheap. My '99 silverado is only going to cost under 150 dollars for pipe pieces, muffler, and a tip.
